Grace is not an item to be doled out, and issued to sinners like a communion wafer. Grace does not come down a procession of human authority. A man does not receive it, to then pass it on in some diminished way to those under his authority. So that they, then might allow others to partake of the ever diminishing portion. No! Grace is a state of existence, inside the unmerited favor of Christ our Lord. He, is our grace. In Him we abide and His grace is efficacious. He is our propitiation, amen.
The Noetic Effects of Sin, and How it Affects Our Reasoning.
I know it sounds complex, but trust me it isn’t… or perhaps it is? The word, “noetics” means; the science of the intellect or of pure thought; reasoning. So what we are talking about here today is how our ability to reason has been corrupted by sin. See, I told you it wasn’t that complex, but wait, there’s more! When we start getting into the concept I think we will all be amazed at how affecting this problem is.
Adam and Eve were made with good minds. They functioned free of sin. Well, then came the fall. They sinned, and God punished them, and their progeny. (us) Part of what happened is that we gained the knowledge of good and evil. We also gained the corruption of our ability to reason. We became spiritually dead and enslaved to sin. God says in His word;
9What then? Are we better than they? Not at all; for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin;
10as it is written, “THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE;
11THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD;
12ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVEBECOME USELESS; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE.”
13“THEIR THROAT IS AN OPEN GRAVE, WITH THEIR TONGUES THEY KEEP DECEIVING,” “THE POISON OF ASPS IS UNDER THEIR LIPS”;
14“WHOSE MOUTH IS FULL OF CURSING ANDBITTERNESS”;
15“THEIR FEET ARE SWIFT TO SHED BLOOD,
16DESTRUCTION AND MISERY ARE IN THEIR PATHS,
17AND THE PATH OF PEACE THEY HAVE NOT KNOWN.”
18“THERE IS NO FEAR OF GOD BEFORE THEIR EYES.”
19Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God;20because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.
So God says there are none who understand or seek God. Think about this, if our reasoning wasn’t corrupted we would objectively reason through problems without pride or anger affecting those conclusions. Have you ever been so angry you couldn’t think clearly and made a bad decision you regretted later? Well that wouldn’t happen if we weren’t sinners. Imagine a mind operating free from sinful influence. Do you know who has a mind like that? I’ll give you a hint, the answer is what every kid in Sunday School says when they don’t know the answer… If you said, “Jesus” you are correct. So if you are not God, then you have the problem of sin affecting the way you perceive, process, understand, and apply everything that comes into your head. That’s right kids; we are all under the curse of original sin.
Here is another example, have you ever been so enamored with a person that they could do no wrong according to you? Most of us could say yes to that. The problem is that they are just as much a sinner as everyone else. They aren’t the person you perceived them to be. The mind was not able to properly understand and judge the information available because of sins affect on reason.
Our perceptions are affected by sin. We see what we want to see. We don’t see what is actual. Our reasoning of what we see is affected to. We run everything through a filter that is changing what goes in so that what comes out is not actual. When we are processing the unreal perceptions through a conduit that affects those perceptions we come up with flawed conclusions. These flawed conclusions are then applied to our situations with varying results, none of which are founded on actuality.
We are so deeply corrupted by sin that we would never be able to repent and have faith in the God of the Bible without His direct intervention in our lives. So think about how you think and if you think the way you thought you thought or if you think the way sin makes you think if you think of sin as a thing that can affect the thinking of thoughts you think.
How Do I Know Heaven Is For Real?
Good article from a Christian brother.
I have been thinking of the parade of “Christian” movies that have come out this year, and of more to follow. The movie Exodus is scheduled to be out this Fall, with Christian Bale playing Moses (Bale was the first choice of Darren Aronofsky to play Noah, but he had scheduling conflicts). Recently, we had “Son Of God”, a movie about Jesus that was produced by a professing “Christian”, Roma Downey- a woman who dabbles in the occult, speaks to her dead mother through a psychic, attended a New Age school founded by John Roger, listens to tapes by Eckhart Tolle and Tony Robbins- among other issues. Most recently was the movie Noah, which butchered the biblical account, and distorted the character of Noah, distorted the reason for the flood, and whose own director, an atheist, said that it is only a fable, and not a true account. For the…

TRIUMPHAL ENTRY
Triumphal Entry
(9) Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
(10) I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim and the war horse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow shall be cut off, and he shall speak peace to the nations; his rule shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth. John 12:12-16 ESV
(12) The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem.
(13) So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!”
(14) And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written,
(15) “Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!”
(16) His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him.
ZECHARIAH GIVES US A GLIMPSE AT OUR SAVIOR AND HIS BETRAYAL BY JUDAS
Here Zechariah is giving us a look into the fulfillment of this prophecy of Jesus and His betrayal.
(12) Then I said to them, “If it seems good to you, give me my wages; but if not, keep them.” And they weighed out as my wages thirty pieces of silver.
(13) Then the LORD said to me, “Throw it to the potter”—the lordly price at which I was priced by them. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the LORD, to the potter. Here is how much they valued the life of Christ.
Exodus 21:32 ESV
(32) If the ox gores a slave, male or female, the owner shall give to their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
Here is the fulfillment of this prophecy in Jesus.
Matthew 27:3-7 ESV
(3) Then when Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus was condemned, he changed his mind and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders,
(4) saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” They said, “What is that to us? See to it yourself.”
(5) And throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, he departed, and he went and hanged himself.
(6) But the chief priests, taking the pieces of silver, said, “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is blood money.”
(7) So they took counsel and bought with them the potter’s field as a burial place for strangers.

Young Earther and Proud.
The Earth simply is not as old as scientist think it is. I don’t fall in to the thinking of, “it was created with the appearance of age.” I think the time/space distortion of creation best explains the concept, that from our point of view looking back at the point of origin it seems to be and for some purposes is old, but looking out from the point of origin it has only been 6000 +or -. We can not perceive time the way God does. He made time. He is not subject to it. It is subject to Him and so is space. If you move a prop through water it causes cavitation which is a distortion. inside the distortion sound travels at a different rate than it does outside the distortion. This is a bad analogy, but you get the idea.
The creation and placing of things at a rate faster than the speed of light causes distortions with time and space. I agree with the Bible that the Earth is young. We just think it is older looking from our point of view. Kind of like the jog wheel on a VCR playing a video of the life of a tree. The seed is not, it is, it is a sapling, it is a tree, it is a house, it is not, all in one instance to God. We are very linear minded beings. His ways are higher than ours. For us to doubt His word because we don’t get it is wrong.

- How approachable/welcoming, is the Pastor before and/or after the service? The Pastor was friendly and spoke to me after the service. I did get the feeling he had somewhere to be though.
- How friendly is the congregation? The congregation was very friendly. They made sure to talk with me for a moment.
- How many congregants were there? There were approximately 10 to 20, the congregation was mostly relatives of the Pastor, and the Sunday School teacher.
- How do they take the offering? Offering plates.
- Where are they located? They are at 1212 1st Ave. South, Payette, Idaho 83661. Their phone number is 208-642-3940.
- How is the service broke down between, prayers, worship, and sermon? Approximately 10% Prayer, 15% hymns, 5% Fellowship, 70% Sermon.
- What is the condition of their facilities? The facilities were in fair condition for their age. They are in a building that used to be a Roman Catholic Church. It has been de-Romanized.
- What is the preaching style of their Pastor? The sermon was topical. The Pastor jumped around quite a bit, sighting many different passages. It seemed that the message got lost in the process. I personally prefer expository preaching.
- Do they use a specific translation of the Bible, or prohibit any translations, if so why? They use the KJV. Here is a quote from their site, “We’re fundamental, we hold to the King James Bible as the inspired, preserved Word of God for the English speaking people.” Here is another, “The King James Version of the Bible shall be the official and only translation used by the church (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).”
- Do they have a web page? They do, and here is the link; http://www.lbcpayette.com/6052.html If so, is there a clear, orthodox, confession or statement of faith? Here is the link; http://www.lbcpayette.com/11701.html From what I can tell they are orthodox. Their soteriology is sound. They believe in, total depravity, election and predestination, perseverance of the saints, cessationism, and dispensationalism.
