Don’t Use Pot, Even If This Godless World Makes It Legal!!!

Image

We all know the pot-head holiday is this month. We will see lots of idiotic articles crying for the legalization of pot for its many alleged benefits. Here are a couple of things to consider; 1) The Bible says to be of sober mind. This is so you can actively fight against sin and temptation in your life. 2) pot is sinful because it is a purely selfish and debasing thing to do. Getting high is no different than being a drunk. 3) Drugs like that are specifically referred to as, “magic, sorcery, enchantment” in the Bible. We are told to stay far away from them.

So go ahead and listen to the liberal, idiotic, Satan worshiping, masses of the left, and follow them to your own personal destruction, while hurting everyone you love because, you are a lackadaisical do nothing, or listen to God in His word. Stand up and be a real man worth remembering and looking up to as a good Christian man emulating Christ to the world.

Pot robs a man of his ambition. All the benefits of pot can be utilized without the smoking it or using the hemp that will get you high. The THC can be put in a pill form with uniform dosage. There is absolutely no need for you to smoke it other than your own selfish desire to get high.

(1 Corinthians 15:34 NASB) Become sober-minded as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.
(1 Peter 5:8 NASB) Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

(Galatians 5:19 NASB) Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,

(Galatians 5:20 NASB) idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,

(Galatians 5:21 NASB) envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

The Rise of a Parallel, Post-Biblical Christianity

The Rise of a Parallel, Post-Biblical Christianity

A churched nation is not the same thing as a “gospeled” nation, and the massive growth of the so-called prosperity gospel in South Africa suggests that my generation may be observing the rise of “parallel Christianity,” a Christianity that is effectively post-Bible.

Update for the First Baptist Church of Fruitland

fruitland sbc

My family and I attended their, “5th Sunday” service on the 30th.  We all had a sweet time of fellowship and worship.  We picked songs from the hymnals in alphabetical order.  We shared attributes of God that began with the letter we were on.  It was the best time of worship in song that we have had in a while.  All of the Church visiting has left us with a bad taste in our mouths when it comes to what passes as worship songs.  The good ol’ hymns are good for a reason.  The deep meaning and theology conveyed by them brings our heads and hearts together in our worship of the Lord.

Update for White Stone Christian Fellowship in Payette

wscf1

I went to their men’s breakfast Saturday the 28th. I had a great time. Unlike some breakfasts I’ve been to, I actually spent most all of my three hours there talking theology with the other men. The time we weren’t talking theology, I was confessing sin and asking for prayer, or eating some very good grub. If you are ever around the area of Payette when they are having a men’s breakfast I encourage you to go and fellowship with them.

We visited Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Ontario, Oregon on 03/30/14

  1. How approachable/welcoming, is the Pastor before and/or after the service? The Pastor was friendly and spoke to us after the service.
  2. How friendly is the congregation? The congregation was very friendly.  They made sure to talk with us for a moment.
  3. How many congregants were there? There were approximately 50 to 70, the congregation was mostly older folks.
  4. How do they take the offering? Offering plates.
  5. Where are they located? They are at 208 SW 1st Ave. Ontario, Oregon 97914.  Their phone number is (541) 889-5458
  6. How is the service broke down between, prayers, worship, and sermon? It is harder to break this down because the service was mostly liturgical.
  7. What is the condition of their facilities? The facilities were in good condition for their age.  I really appreciated the stained glass windows, the Cross, and the fact that it was evident this is a Christian Church and not a rec. center.
  8. What is the preaching style of their Pastor? The sermon was expository.  It was on John 9:1-41.  The Pastor did a pretty good job of opening up the scripture to the congregation.
  9. Do they use a specific translation of the Bible, or prohibit any translations, if so why? I didn’t notice which one they used.
  10. Do they have a web page? They do, and here is the link; http://pilgrimlutheran.net/  If so, is there a clear, orthodox, confession or statement of faith? There was, but it is pretty simple, they are a Lutheran Church of the Missouri Synod.  If you need help with that just look up Lutheran and Missouri Synod.  Some points of interest are that they have a rich faith history.  You can look up Martin Luther the Reformer and the 95 Thesis.  They are Paedobaptists.  They also believe in consubstantiation for the elements of communion.    Overall we had a very nice time of worship with them.

Repentance, granted by God.

Repentance granted by God

dark

So imagine you are in a dark room.  You have two actual options to choose from.  You are only aware of one.  The one you are aware of is in front of you, dimly lit.  The other, is covered under a black box.  You are not aware of its existence.  How can you choose an option you are not aware exists?  If you are a slave to sin, and not regenerate, you are like the person in the dark room.  You choose what you have chosen, and you do it over and over again.  If you are going to be saved, God makes the other option evident to you.

heaven or hell

It is as if, He removes the box, and shines a bright light on the other option.  In so doing, you realize it is far superior.  The other actual option you were reveling in is realy like; vomit, feces, and maggots.  In revulsion you cast it down.  You vigorously whip your hands back and forth in disgust.  The realization of what you had once loved, and called good, is so disgusting, in light of the truth, that you can’t believe you loved it.  You flee to the truth of God, as fast as you can, with reckless abandon, throwing yourself at the foot of the cross, seeing it’s beauty for the first time.
