If you remove microaggressions and triggers from the Bible?

microaggression
Let’s examine what the our favorite Bible verses would look like if we removed microaggressions and triggers from them.

[Matthew 23:27 NASB]
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but inside they are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.

Now let’s see what it would look like without microaggressions and triggers.

[Matthew 23:27 NASB]
“to you, scribes and Pharisees,  For you are like washed  which on the beautiful, but inside they are full of bones and all.

[Acts 2:38 NASB]
Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Now let’s see what it would look like without microaggressions and triggers.

[Acts 2:38 NASB]
Peter said to them, “, and each of you be baptized in the name of for the forgiveness of your ; and you will receive the gift of the Spirit.

[Mark 15:24 NASB]
And they *crucified Him, and *divided up His garments among themselves, casting lots for them to decide what each man should take.

Now let’s see what it would look like without microaggressions and triggers.

[Mark 15:24 NASB]
And they , and divided up garments among themselves, casting lots for them to decide what each should take.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 NASB [9] Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, [10] nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. [11] Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

Now let’s see what it would look like without microaggressions and triggers.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 NASB [9] Or do you know that the will inherit the kingdom of ? Do be deceived; neither nor , nor , nor , nor , [10] nor thieves, nor the , nor , nor , nor , will inherit the kingdom of . [11] Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the and in the of our .

Acts 7:55-60 NASB But being full of the Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God; [56] and he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” [57] But they cried out with a loud voice, and covered their ears and rushed at him with one impulse. [58] When they had driven him out of the city, they began stoning him; and the witnesses laid aside their robes at the feet of a young man named Saul. [59] They went on stoning Stephen as he called on the Lord and said, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit!” [60] Then falling on his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them!” Having said this, he fell asleep.

Now let’s see what it would look like without microaggressions and triggers.

Acts 7:55-60 NASB But being full of the  Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of , and  standing at the right hand of ; [56] and he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the  of standing at the right hand of .” [57] But they cried out with a loud voice, and covered their ears and rushed at him with one impulse. [58] When they had him out of the city, they began him; and the witnesses laid aside their robes at the feet of a young named Saul. [59] They went on Stephen as called on the and said, “, receive my spirit!” [60] Then falling on knees,  out with a voice, “, do not hold this against them!” Having said this, fell asleep.

Are we getting the picture yet?  When you start acting as the thought police, making up rules for society that are totalitarian, rules that have as their authority the fallen sin nature of man, rules that require complete adherence, so much so that you must be silent, then you remove God, His will, sin, human sinfulness, the atoning work of Christ, and the gospel from the God’s word itself.  We must never consider fallen human desires to be accepted over and above what God has declared and decreed in His Holy Word!

It is not a God given right to go through life and never experience trauma or shame.  Nobody should demand or expect this.  Because we live in a fallen sinful world, there will be sin.  You will have to deal with it.  You must deal with it.  Making laws against everything that is potentially offensive to someone is ridiculously ludicrous.  We need to hear that we are sinners.  We need to understand how transcendently holy, good, righteous, and authoritative God is.   We need to contrast our lowly, sinful, unrighteousness, and sinfulness, to God.  We need to be offended and traumatized.  This is how God’s Spirit brings us to new life, repentance, and faith.  Remove microaggressions and triggers from society, and you get a silent, malignant, homogeneous, sinful, tumor.  The truth is offensive to those who reside in a lie of self-deceptive idolatry.  Don’t have the golden calf of microaggressions and triggers.  Don’t enthrone yourself as the god of your life.  Repent and believe, on and in, the finished work of the resurrected, Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

A Brief Exposition of Psalm 91

Exposition of Psalm 91

Besides how this applied to people during the time of its writing, it also has application to us. The people under the protection of God, were His children of that time, and all times. We of course fit into the latter category. The application of this promise then follows, this protection does not apply to the unrepentant sinners. It applies to those who are in Christ, by grace, through faith. In the time of its writing, faith in the one true God, and His promise of a Messiah, was the determining factor. This Psalm is about the triune God, His relationship with the Psalmist, and the audience of the Psalmist. It explains God’s protection of His children.

[Psalms 91:1 NAS77]
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

The Most High is the one, true, Triune God. His shelter is His providential, eternal protection, that can be trusted regardless of mortal fears. To “abide in the shadow of the Almighty” is a metaphor. It expresses His immensity, and power, that overshadows our weakness. If we are in Him, we are under His eternal protection. Nothing can remove us from strength of God’s grasp.

[Psalms 91:2 NAS77]
I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!”

The child of God, is the person who can declare that God is his sanctuary and protection, and in God’s sovereign rule, they can trust.

[Psalms 91:3 NAS77]
For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper, And from the deadly pestilence.

God delivers us from the unseen traps that are set for us by satan.

[Psalms 91:4 NAS77]
He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.

God in His love shelters us. The metaphor of a mother hen is used in Matt 23:37. Unlike the fragile wings and feathers of a hen, God’s shelter is explained with the metaphor of a shield and bulwark. This implies His strength and the fortification of His protection.

[Psalms 91:5 NAS77]
You will not be afraid of the terror by night, Or of the arrow that flies by day;

Darkness is often a metaphor for evil and it is the cover under which the evil do their deeds. Under God’s protection we need not fear the unseen evil deeds of men or the evil deeds done in the sight of all during the day.

[Psalms 91:6 NAS77]
Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon.

We need not fear sickness or death. God will preserve us through this mortal life through to the immortal life in the glory of His eternal presence.

[Psalms 91:7 NAS77]
A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not approach you.

Even in the midst of horrific death and violence we need not fear or pause. We keep pushing on in confidence of His goodness and surety of His sovereign strength.

[Psalms 91:8 NAS77]
You will only look on with your eyes, And see the recompense of the wicked.

We can trust in His just and right judgment against the workers of evil in this world. They will be punished and all the wrongs will be righted.

[Psalms 91:9 NAS77]
For you have made the LORD, my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place.

The Psalmist is telling us that the individual referenced here has also trusted God and made Him his dwelling place.

[Psalms 91:10 NAS77]
No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent.

[Psalms 91:11 NAS77]
For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways.

Because of the individual’s trust in God he has no reason for worry. God will protect all who are His and send angels to protect them. We are His if we are in Him and dwell in Him.

[Psalms 91:12 NAS77]
They will bear you up in their hands, Lest you strike your foot against a stone.

This was misused by satan in his attempts to tempt Jesus in the desert. Satan always tries to pervert God’s word.

[Psalms 91:13 NAS77]
You will tread upon the lion and cobra, The young lion and the serpent you will trample down.

The devil has been referred to as a lion roaming around looking for people to devour. He has also been called a serpent, and a dragon. This seems to point forward to the promise of Romans 16:20 where we will be used by God to trample the devil under our feet.

[Psalms 91:14 NAS77]
“Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name.

The psalmist here brings in God to speak for Himself. God declares that He will deliver the person who has loved Him and He will secure him, because he has known Him by name. Those of us in Christ have had the Father revealed to us by Him. We know and are known by God. We have a relationship with Him as adopted Sons.

[Psalms 91:15 NAS77]
“He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him, and honor him.

God promises to answer His children. When we come to Him with our prayers, even prayers of trouble, God will rescue us and honor us with His Lordship over us.

[Psalms 91:16 NAS77]
“With a long life I will satisfy him, And let him behold My salvation.”

He will give us the length of days to accomplish that which He has foreordained for us to accomplish. We will die in His time after completing all that He has set forth for us to do. We can trust in Him and His goodness.

Modern American culture places a dubiously high value on individual personal happiness.

Modern American culture places a dubiously high value on individual personal happiness. This is purposefully, and directly opposed to the will of God. It is an elevation of man’s position and authority over God’s. The sinner should first and foremost seek to do the will of God and find His happiness in the peace that comes through being in God’s will. We are commanded to do what is right. Right, is not some secular consensus. It is what God has deemed right and good in His sovereign will as Creator and Sustainer of all things. To do God’s will is where we will find peace, happiness, joy, contentment, and fulfillment. We won’t find those things in any lasting or meaningful way seeking our own understanding of what happiness is. So you go ahead and try to find your happiness in the world, among things, and fleshly pleasures, and when you are empty, broken, and full of misery, remember… you did what made you happy…

“God Wins” from Author Mark Galli, is a Mature Response, to Bell’s, “Love Wins.”

Hello, Soapbox fans.  Today we are going to look at the book, “God Wins” written by Mark Galli the Senior Managing Editor for Christianity Today.  In his book, Mark answers many of the questions raised by Rob Bell’s book, “Love Wins.”  First and foremost, I have to applaud Mark for his maturity, and propriety in handling the heresies of Rob Bell.  I tried to read Bell’s book without getting angry and could not.  It made me furious with him every time.  The slick, used car salesman, shysterly, manipulative, methods he employed to convince people of heresy seemed to me, to slip supplely, from this silver tongued devil’s mouth.  So, bravo Mark!  You are a better man than I, and I mean that.  Furthermore, I admire Mark’s maturity when dealing with this book.  Mark even explains his reasons for doing so in Appendix 3.

I am Lutheresque in my polemics at times.  I tend to attack, without considering the effect I’ll have on the followers of the false teacher.  Instead of seeing the correction and accepting it, they see me slaughtering their golden calf.  When I read a work like this, I can see how it is better for  the sheep.  In dealing with the sheep we must be gentle.  If this book were for Rob Bell alone, I would expect a more belligerent approach.

Mark takes a very thoughtful and thorough approach addressing the major issues of heresy in Bell’s book.  It is almost impossible to talk about Mark’s book without mentioning Bell’s book, since it is an antithetical response to  Bell’s.  As Galli draws out, isolates, and entertains, the questions Bell asks, he offers orthodox answers and corrections that are easily understood.  He explains doctrines that the Church has affirmed for over two thousand years.  Don’t think that Galli is using kid gloves.  He deals with the false gospel, and universalism of Bell.  He even explains and contrasts the differences.

I encourage all of you who have read Bell’s book, have family who are fans of Bell, or plan on reading Bell’s book, to read, “God Wins.”  For those of you with Bell fans in the family, after you have finished reading, “God Wins” give it to them as a gift, and pray for them to accept godly correction with humble repentance, and godly sorrow.

Who Said Worldview Doesn’t Matter? Here is a Woman Who Blinded Herself With Drain Cleaner.

Here is a woman, who blinded herself on purpose with drain cleaner, because she always felt like she should be blind. So she self identified as a blind person. It is interesting that the same liberal, satan worshipping, idiots, who advocate the mutilation of girls and boys are judging this woman.  They are calling her insane or mentally ill with a disorder(Body Integrity Identity Disorder). How dare they? They can’t be consistent. They condone parents mutilating their children with hormones and surgeries to turn them into pseudo-boys or pseudo-girls because they are mentally ill and sin sick.  Then they decry people like this woman as mentally ill.  They are so unstable themselves. Why does anyone care what they think? We should just stop listening or letting them speak. We just need to shut them down and call them idiots. To be honest, some of these nut jobs are condoning her decision simply because it makes her happy. Since when is human happiness the standard of what is right and wrong? Oh that’s right, since secular humanism now runs the show. Once we stopped living to glorify God and enjoy Him forever, satan helped us fill the void with the worship of self.   Where is the help for people like this?  I mean real help.  Her psychologist help her blind herself.  That is outrageous!  This is what happens when you cater to peoples fickle sense of what will make them happy instead of what is God honoring and would make them healthy.  She like all of the people experiencing problems with their gender need Biblical help.  They need the gospel and Biblical counseling.  They need to hear how they are made in the image of God and that they are being deceived by sin into mutilating themselves.  They need to be reconciled to Him and healed.  and Here is the video,
